Aleph Portman-Millepied is the firstborn of Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied. His name is the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet, which also has symbolic meanings of humility and strength. The boy was named in such a way to accentuate his mother’s Jewish descent.
Aleph was already in his mother’s womb when she received an Oscar for her part in Black Swan. After his birth, his parents try to keep his privacy and rarely appear in public with him. However, in 2018, Aleph and Natalie stole the show at the Los Angeles Lakers basketball game they attended together.
A curious fact: Aleph hasn’t seen Star Wars yet. Natalie revealed that she wanted to show the films to her kids but understood that she died in the movies and that could be a scary thing for Aleph.
