Brent Grimes is most noted for being an NFL cornerback. Like other representatives of this kind of sports, he started with college football at Shippensburg University and was selected to DII All-American three times. Though Grimes was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 2006, he spent a year with German team from NFL Europa, Hamburg Sea Devils, and earned a victory at 2007 World Bowl with them.
In 2007, Brent returned to the Falcons and made his official NFL debut. He made a breakthrough in 2009 thanks to totaling 66 tackles, 6 interceptions, a fumble recovery and 13 passes defended. In 2013, the athlete joined Miami Dolphins. But in 2016, he left the team partly because of his spouse’s criticism of the team’s owner Stephen M. Ross.
Brent Grimes spent the final two years of his professional career with Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is currently a free agent and still hasn’t made an official announcement about his retirement. By the way, throughout his career, the player appeared in the Pro Bowl four times.
In 2010, Brent espoused former basketball player Miko Grimes. Their son Aiden drew his first breath the same year. Though Miko has always been a very supportive and protective wife, her comments had a negative impact on Brent’s career. Her anti-Semitic comments about Stephen M. Ross and opinion on quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s performance led Grimes leaving Miami Dolphins.
A curious fact: Grimes also has some television credits. Thus, he appeared on The League and Rome series.
