Chris Ivery is a music and film producer who is also famed for being a spouse of Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo.
Chris authored the song Cheers (Drink To That) for the Smash TV series. In 2019, he launched the sportswear line STLA, a relaunch of the classic sportswear brand Sergio Tacchini. Actually, he prefers to keep away from the limelight and remains in the shadow of his wife’s success. The exception was made for Punk’d show. Ivery decided to participate and tipped a waitress an insane sum of money. Ellen was jealous before she discovered that it was a joke.
Moreover, Chris Ivery is a Boston Celtics fan. He often visits the games with Ellen.
Chris got acquainted with Ellen Pompeo in 2003 at a grocery store in Los Angeles though they were both from Boston and were raised just 10 miles away from each other. They started with friendship and gradually developed romantic feelings for each other. On November 9, 2007, they tied knots at a civil ceremony without guests. The only witness was New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. In 2009, the spouses welcomed their elder daughter Stella, who was followed by sister Sienna in 2014. In 2016, the couple’s only son Eli drew his first breath.
Pompeo reveals that she likes that Chris isn’t intimidated by her bossiness. She describes him as a very secure man, her rock, soulmate and protector. In his turn, Ivery claims that though he isn’t jealous, he feels awkward watching Ellen’s romance scenes on the screen.
A curious fact: Chris Ivery has a criminal past. Among his offenses were postal theft, credit card fraud, drug trafficking, counterfeiting documents and violation of probation. He also served three prison stints.
