It seems that Drew Barrymore was doomed to stardom. Being born to performers John and Jaid Barrymore and having other famed relatives, the girl made an acting debut in a commercial before she turned one.
In 1980, Drew landed her first movie role in Altered States and by 1982, she was a child star thanks to playing in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Since then, the performer has appeared in dozens of successful movies. Among them are Poison Ivy, The Wedding Singer, Never Been Kissed, Charlie’s Angels, Donnie Darko, Duplex, 50 First Dates, Lucky You plus Blended.
Besides, Drew Barrymore appeared in many television projects. However, her most acclaimed part was the one in Grey Gardens film as it brought her SAG Award and Golden Globe. In 2020, the celebrity launched The Drew Barrymore Show.
Additionally, Barrymore dealt with the production of many films through her Flower Films company and tried her hand at directing in Whip It. She also runs Flower Beauty brand, owns a winery along with being an author of three books, including autobiographical Little Girl Lost and Wildflower. By the way, the first one was published when the star was 15.
On March 20, 1994, Drew tied knots with entrepreneur Jeremy Thomas, but the marriage was short-lived and ended in a couple of months. On July 7, 2001, she got hitched to TV host Tom Green, but their ways parted the following year.
On June 2, 2012, Barrymore celebrated a wedding again, this time with art specialist Will Kopelman. Later that year, the spouses welcomed daughter Olive. And in 2014, another baby girl named Frankie became the newest addition to the family. However, Will and Drew called it quits in 2016.
A curious fact: in 1998, Drew and Tom Green adopted a dog named Flossie that later saved their lives. When a fire started at their LA home, they were sleeping while Flossie started barking and tried to enter the bedroom to wake up the couple. When the dog died in 2010, the celebrity scattered the ashes near a Buddhist monastery in the Himalayas.
