Ezra Koenig is a music artist famed for being a frontman of Vampire Weekend rock band and 5-time Grammy nominee. Being only 10 years old, he started creating songs and understood that music was his vocation. Ezra was a member of various music bands at the dawn of his career, including Dirty Projectors and The Walkmen.
Koenig created Vampire Weekend in 2005. The band name was inspired by the eponymous indie film produced by the musician and his pals, which wasn’t released. In 2008, they presented the self-titled album, which gained platinum certification. To date, Vampire Weekend has recorded three more albums.
Ezra also deals with music production and is noted for working on Beyonce’s album Lemonade. Apart from music, Ezra Koenig created Neo Yokio animated TV series. He also hosts radio talk show titled Time Crisis.
By the way, Koenig majored in English literature at Columbia University and even taught English for some time after his graduation. He had good relations with his students and even brought his guitar to the classes sometimes.
Ezra got romantically involved with Rashida Jones somewhere in 2015-2016. They couple kept their relationship under wraps till 2017, when they were spotted at several events together, including Sundance Film Festival. However, Ezra and Rashida still haven’t confirmed their relationship status publicly. In 2018, their son Isaiah drew his first breath.
A curious fact: Ezra Koenig revealed that he was very intimidated to play his music to Quincy Jones, a father of his sweetheart. However, the music legend was very interested in it and even shared some tips with his potential son-in-law.
