Hugh Jackman is most famed for the part of Wolverine in the X-Men franchise. However, he is a much more interesting and multi-talented personality who earned Grammy, Tony, Golden Globe awards along with being a nominee for Oscar and BAFTA.
Hugh drew his first breath in the family of accountant Christopher John Jackman and his spouse. Following his parents’ divorce, he and his brothers, Ian and Ralph, remained with their dad while their sisters Sonya and Zoe relocated to England with their mom. The celebrity also has a maternal half-sister.
Though he loved performing arts since childhood, Hugh didn’t believe that it could be his steady job until he obtained a part in Correlli television series. After that, he worked on stage before turning into an international star in 2000 thanks to starring in X-Men. He proceeded with playing in other movies of the series as well as embarked on independent project The Wolverine.
Today, Hugh Jackman is also noted for starring in Kate & Leopold, Swordfish, Van Helsing, The Prestige, Deception, Real Steel, Eddie the Eagle and The Greatest Showman movies. He established production company Seed Productions and executive produced the series Viva Laughlin.
Furthermore, his other passion is music. Hugh sings and is good at playing the guitar, piano and violin. He performed in many musicals and even went on a tour in 2019.
Apart from the entertainment industry, Jackman dedicates much time to philanthropic work and supports numerous charities. In 2011, he launched Laughing Man Coffee company, donating the profits to needy children plus supporting educational and social programs for entrepreneurs.
On April 11, 1996, Hugh got hitched to Deborra-Lee Furness. They wanted to have kids but passed through two miscarriages. In 2000, the spouses adopted son Oscar and in 2005, their family was expanded by a baby girl named Ava.
A curious fact: Hugh doesn’t smoke in real life and hates doing that on screen.
