Today, she is famed for starring in Operation Petticoat, Anything but Love, New Girl and Scream Queens series plus several films, including She’s in the Army Now, Money on the Side, As Summers Die and Nicholas Gift.

Jamie’s big screen debut happened in the 1978 movie Halloween. The part of Laurie Strode brought her popularity and the performer proceeded with playing in all the sequels. Among her other credits are The Fog, Prom Night, Trading Places, Love Letters, Perfect, Blue Steel, My Girl, Forever Young, Mother’s Boys, True Lies, Freaky Friday, Christmas with the Kranks, You Again plus Knives Out.

In the early 1980s, Curtis was romantically linked to production designer J. Michael Riva. On December 18, 1984, she tied knots with Christopher Guest. As the spouses suffered from infertility, they adopted daughter Annie in 1986. And in 1996, an adopted baby boy named Thomas became the newest addition to the family.

Despite being a very successful woman, Jamie had problems with alcohol and was addicted to painkillers. However, she managed to battle her addictions in 1999 and never faced them again. She considers the recovery to be her greatest achievement.

A curious fact: Jamie is a godmother of movie star Jake Gyllenhaal.
