Jean was born in Carson, North Dakota, in a family of farmers Anthony Alphonse Muggli (1933-2000) and Mary Banning. She has 6 siblings: brothers Timmy, Scott and David plus sisters CarolLee, Cindy and Denise. She later moved to New York.
In 1996, the life of Jean Muggli Strahan changed drastically. She got acquainted with Michael Strahan while she worked as a shop assistant at a cosmetic store located at one of Manhattan spa centers.
