Josh Holloway rose to prominence thanks to starring in a number of television shows. Though he drew his first breath in San Jose, CA, he was raised in Free Home, GE, by a nurse mother and a surveyor father alongside brothers named Brad, Sam and Ben.
Holloway began his career with modeling and collaborated with such brands as Dolce & Gabbana and Calvin Klein. He also appeared in Aerosmith’s music video Cryin’. In 1999, Josh gained his debut role in an episode of Angel television series. He proceeded with appearing on Walker, Texas Ranger, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Lyon’s Den, NCIS and Good Girls Don’t show before making a breakthrough by portraying James “Sawyer” Ford in Lost. That part brought him SAG and Saturn Awards along with five nominations for Teen Choice Awards.
Additionally, Josh Holloway is famed for playing in Intelligence, Colony and Yellowstone TV series. He also produced the former two. Besides, he can boast of some big screen credits. After landing his first role in 2001 film Cold Heart, Holloway embarked on parts in Moving August, Whisper, Stay Cool, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Battle of the Year: The Dream Team, Paranoia and Sabotage.
Being considered as one of the hottest male stars, Josh became the face of Davidoff’s Cool Water fragrance in 2007 and was chosen as a spokesperson for Magnum ice cream in 2008.
On October 1, 2004, Josh tied knots with Yessica Kumala. They welcomed daughter Java in 2009. And in 2014, their son Hunter joined the family.
A curious fact: Josh was offered to portray Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine but refused as he considered the character to have much in common with his Lost personage.
