Kevin Kline’s acting career began in the 1970s with theater. He appeared in a number of Broadway’s plays, including On the Twentieth Century and Present Laughter, and earned 3 Tony Awards.
In 1982, Kline’s big screen debut happened in Sophie’s Choice film and in 1988, he gained his first Oscar for playing in A Fish Called Wanda. Among the performer’s other credits are The Pirates of Penzance, Silverado, Violets Are Blue, The January Man, French Kiss, The Ice Storm, In & Out, Wild Wild West, The Emperor’s Club, De-Lovely plus My Old Lady movies.
Kevin first appeared on TV in soap opera Search for Tomorrow and proceeded with appearing in Hamlet and Cyrano de Bergerac TV films. Besides, he had a voice role in Bob’s Burgers sitcom.
In 1989, Kline tied knots with Phoebe Cates. In 1991, they became parents of son Owen. And in 1994, the spouses were blessed with daughter Greta.
A curious fact: as a rule, Kevin is clean-shaven in his dramatic roles and has a mustache in comedies. Though, there are a few exceptions.
