Kim Porter was most famed for her modeling and acting skills as well as for being a longtime girlfriend of P. Diddy. Being a daughter of Sarah Lee Porter, a probation officer at the Columbus Juvenile Court, Kim studied at Columbus High School and took part in various model contests before her fateful meeting with the music star.

Porter also tried her hand at acting. She played in The Brothers, The System Within, Mama I Want to Sing films as well as Wicked Wicked Games and Single Ladies television series. Moreover, she co-produced Diddy’s documentary Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: A Bad Boy Story and appeared on his reality show I Want to Work for Diddy. As a businesswoman, she co-founded Three Brown Girls entertainment company.

In the late 1980s-early 1990s, Kim Porter was romantically linked to music producer Al. B. Sure!. In 1991, their son Quincy Brown drew his first breath. When she got acquainted with Sean Combs, she was still in a relationship with Al. They started dating in 1994 and in 1997, they welcomed their son Christian. The couple broke up in 1999 to reconcile in 2003 and give birth to twin daughters Jessie and D’Lila in 2006. However, in 2007, Kim and Sean called it quits, remaining good friends and amicable co-parents to their children.

The sad news appeared in November 2018 as Kim was found dead in her Toluca Lake home. The reason for her death was pneumonia. P. Diddy shared that before she passed away, Porter asked him to take care of her kids. Moreover, one of her last posts on Instagram was a birthday message to Diddy in which she thanked him for giving her the best gifts of her life, their kids. A year after her death, the music star shared a video of her playing the piano and wrote that he missed her.

A curious fact: Jodeci’s song Forever My Lady, co-written and produced by Al. B. Sure!, is about Kim.
