Marco Perego-Saldana is an artist who was born in Italy but later moved to the United States. Since 2016, he has been a US citizen. In youth, Marco was a soccer player. But he suffered a leg injury at 21 and had to forget about professional sports career.
Perego rose to fame in 2008 thanks to painting the background of Dolce and Gabbana’s Where the Fashion Meets Art ad. Today, he is engaged into some other ventures as well. Thus, Marco was a writer and director of Burn to Shine short film. And he currently works at Keyhole Garden movie, where his wife will play. Moreover, the artist produced Black and White Stripes: The Juventus Story documentary and Me + Her short movie.
Marco Perego started dating Avatar star Zoe Saldana in March 2013 and in June, the couple secretly tied knots in London. After the wedding, the spouses adopted each other’s surnames and thus, Marco is Perego-Saldana while Zoe is Saldana-Perego. In 2014, their family was blessed with twins Bowie and Cy. And in 2017, their younger son Zen drew his first breath.
Marco seems to be head over heels in love with Zoe. He has a tattoo of his beloved wife’s face on his arm and often shares her photos on social media. He also visits various events with her and supports Zoe’s humanitarian efforts. Moreover, Marco and Zoe adhere to a gluten- and dairy-free diet due to the Guardians of the Galaxy star’s battle with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.
A curious fact: Marco is nicknamed Pirate Perego. He even uses this nickname for his Instagram account.
