Owen Joseph Kline is the firstborn of Kevin Kline and Phoebe Cates. He shares a middle name with his paternal grandfather.
Owen made an acting debut in 2001 film The Anniversary Party and proceeded with roles in The Squid and the Whale, Jobe’z World and short film John’s Gone. He also works behind the camera. Kline directed and wrote short films Fowl Play and Jazzy for Joe along with directing and producing documentary Steve Dalachinsky.
Owen frequently visits various events with his stellar parents. For instance, he attended the premiere of Memoirs of an Invisible Man in 1992 and accompanied his father to SNL 40th Anniversary Celebration in 2015.
A curious fact: after Owen was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, Kevin joined the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
