Quincy Jones is a legend of jazz music who earned Primetime Emmy, Tony Award, 28 Grammys plus was a 7-time Oscar nominee. He began his professional path with touring with various jazz bands before becoming a vice-president at Mercury Records in 1961. In the mid-1960s, he gained fame thanks to composing music for The Pawnbroker, Mirage plus The Slender Thread films. Quincy later provided soundtracks for In Cold Blood, Brother John and The Color Purple.

Jones presented his debut album Jazz Abroad in 1955. To date, he has released 38 albums as a lead artist. In 1975, Quincy established Qwest Productions. He later became a record producer of some Michael Jackson’s albums, including Thriller and Bad, and collaborated with Frank Sinatra.

Moreover, Quincy Jones made appearances in Austin Powers in Goldmember, Sandy Wexler movies plus Quincy documentary about him. He tried his hand at producing in The Color Purple movie. In 2001, the artist presented his memoir and in 2007, he launched Quincy Jones Video Podcast, where he shares his experience in show business.

Jones espoused his high school sweetheart Jeri Caldwell in 1957. Though their marriage was dissolved in 1966, it resulted in the birth of his firstborn, daughter Jolie. In 1967, the musician tied knots with Ulla Andersson, a mother of his daughter Martina and son Quincy. As soon as they got divorced in 1974, he got hitched to Peggy Lipton who gave birth to daughters Kidada and Rashida. However, that marriage also failed and ended in 1989.

In 1991-1995, Jones was romantically linked to Nastassja Kinski. They have a daughter named Kenya. He also shares daughter Rachel with Carol Reynolds, with whom he had a brief affair. Actually, the musician is rather a loving personality. He even revealed that once he had 22 girlfriends in different cities simultaneously.

A curious fact: Quincy Jones was present at his own memorial service. In 1974, he had a couple of brain aneurysms and doctors predicted that he might not have much time left. That’s why his relatives began preparation for a memorial service, which he visited together with his doctor. However, Quincy turned out to have a much stronger health than it seemed to be.
