Being a part of a creative family of music artist Quincy Jones and Twin Peaks star Peggy Lipton, Rashida Jones got engaged into acting and singing in childhood. While studying at Harvard, she aspired to become an attorney but later gave preference to the entertainment industry.

Rashida made a TV debut in 1997 series The Last Don and proceeded with gaining her first big screen part in Myth America. She rose to fame after starring in Boston Public and The Office television series but became a world-known star thanks to her part in Parks and Recreation. Jones is also noted for playing in Angie Tribeca.

Additionally, Jones was an author of comics Frenemy of the State and took part in the creation of scripts to Celeste and Jesse Forever, Nosedive episode of Black Mirror plus Toy Story 4. Having inherited her dad’s music talent, she provided vocals for some songs of Maroon 5 as well as contributed to soundtracks for The Baxter and Ten.

Rashida was romantically linked to musician Mark Ronson in 2002-2004 and was even engaged to him. She was also in relationships with Tobey Maguire, John Krasinski and speech writer Jon Favreau. Jones started dating Ezra Koenig, a frontman of Vampire Weekend band, somewhere in 2015-2016. In 2018, they welcomed their firstborn, son Isaiah.

A curious fact: in 1994, Rashida had a conflict with rapper Tupac Shakur who criticized her parents’ interracial marriage. However, the conflict was resolved and they befriended. Moreover, at the moment of his death, Tupac had an affair with Rashida’s sister Kidada.
