Sam Hunt is a country music star who got into the spotlight relatively recently but already managed to become a respected personality in the music industry. He is the winner of 2 Academy of Country Music Awards, American Music Award along with earning four Grammy nominations.
Hailing from Cedartown, Georgia, Sam was raised by insurance agent Allen and pedagogue Joan Hunt. He has two younger brothers named Van and Ben.
At school, Hunt was a gifted football player and proceeded with playing for Middle Tennessee State University and University of Alabama. While his college career wasn’t very successful, he managed to earn a degree in economics at the latter. Having given up hope to become a professional athlete, Sam decided to dedicate his life to music.
Initially, Sam Hunt wrote singles for other artists, including Keith Urban, Reba McEntire plus Billy Currington. In 2014, he presented EP X2C and went on to record first album Montevallo, which was certified three-time platinum and helped the artist to reach stardom. In 2015, Hunt released a mixtape Between the Pines. In April 2020, a Southside album was presented.
Sam got romantically involved with nurse Hannah Lee Fowler in 2008. They were in an on/off relationship and got hitched on April 15, 2017. By the way, Hannah served as a source of inspiration for many of her spouse’s songs.
A curious fact: Hunt provided background vocals for Carrie Underwood’s single Heartbeat.
