Shaunie O’Neal (born Va’Shaundya Karlette Nelson) is a business lady and television star. She is the former wife of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.
Hailing from Wichita Falls, Texas, Shaunie started her career with working as a film marketer and went on to executive produce reality shows Basketball Wives, Basketball Wives LA and Baller Wives. Moreover, she starred in Shaunie’s Home Court, a project concentrating on her kids and family life.
Additionally, Shaunie O’Neal is engaged in the world of real estate investing and teaches women how to get multiple streams of income. She is also a social media star who can boast of 1.3 million followers on Instagram.
In 1997, Shaunie gave birth to her firstborn, son Myles. A year after his birth, she got romantically involved with Shaquille O’Neal and tied knots with him on December 26, 2002. At that time, they were already parents to son Shareef, born in 2000, and daughter Amirah, who drew her first breath in 2001. In 2003, the spouses welcomed another son, Shaqir, followed by their youngest child, daughter Me’arah, in 2006.
In 2007, Shaquille and Shaunie called it quits but reconciled. However, in 2009, they broke up for good and all with their divorce being finalized in 2011. Afterwards, the woman was in a relationship with model Marlon Yates.
