Ariadna Thalia Sodi Miranda Mottola, or simply Thalia, is famed for her music and acting talents. She is one of the most successful Mexican and Latin artists who earned 2 Latin Grammys, 5 Billboard Music Awards plus 8 Los Nuestro Awards.
Thalia’s career started in childhood. At 9, she was already a member of Pac Man band and proceeded with singing at Timbiriche group. In 1990, the artist presented the eponymous debut album as a solo artist. However, she gained more popularity after releasing the En Extasis album, which included the hit Piel Morena. To date, Thalia has recorded 12 albums. She also collaborated with other music stars like Robbie Williams, Marc Anthony, Maluma, Prince Royce and Becky G.
Thalia made an acting debut in 1987 in Mexican television series Pobre Señorita Limantour. She later starred in many other telenovelas, comprising Maria Mercedes and Marimar. In 1997, she sang for the main character in the animated film Anastasia.
Additionally, the celebrity is engaged in several business ventures. She has her hair care line Adria by Thalia, clothes collection Thalia Sodi plus several fragrances. She also authored four books, including her memoir Growing Stronger, and hosted radio show The Conexión Thalía in 2007-2016.
Thalia was introduced to Tommy Mottola by Emilio Estefan, her record producer. On December 2, 2000, the sweethearts got hitched at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York. In 2007, their daughter Sabrina drew her first breath. And in 2011, she was joined by a baby brother named Matthew. Despite their 22-year age gap, Thalia and Tommy still seem to be madly in love with each other after being married for 20 years.
A curious fact: Thalia suffers from Lyme disease. She was diagnosed with the disease when she was pregnant with her firstborn.
