Tony Romo is a retired American football player who is now a television personality. Keeping Mexican, German and Polish roots, he drew his first breath in the family of Ramiro Romo, a military man turned construction worker, and grocery store employee Joan Jakubowski. The athlete was raised alongside sisters Jossalyn and Danielle.
In childhood, Romo was interested in various sports, including baseball, basketball and tennis, but made up his mind to concentrate on football. Like other athletes, he started playing college football for Eastern Illinois Panthers. And before he went professional, Tony was already 2-time OVC champion, 3-time OVC Player of the Year plus the winner of Walter Payton Award.
In 2003, Romo joined Dallas Cowboys, the team he represented till his retirement in 2017. During his professional years, he was selected for Pro Bowl 4 times and gained Ed Block Courage Award in 2011.
Currently, Tony Romo is building a career on TV. He is an NFL expert commentator for CBS Sports with the salary of $17 million a year, which is higher than any other football analyst has. By the way, he is also famed for the ability to predict plays before they happened.
In 2007-2009, Tony was romantically linked to Jessica Simpson. On May 28, 2011, he tied knots with Candice Crawford, a winner of 2008 Miss Missouri USA pageant. In 2012, they welcomed their firstborn, son Hawkins. He was followed by two more boys, Rivers and Jones, who were born in 2014 and 2017 respectively.
A curious fact: Tony has been an avid golfer since eight years old when he got his first set of golf clubs for Christmas. In 2018, he gained a victory at the American Century Championship, a competition for celebrities.
