Bio

Jim Gaffigan, who is actually James Christopher Gaffigan, is most famed for his comedian and writing skills. Having got a degree in finance at Georgetown University, he understood that it wasn’t his vocation and made up his mind to move to New York to try his hand at comedy. Jim performed at various comedy clubs but gained popularity only in the 2000s after his albums Beyond the Pale and King Baby were released by Comedy Central.

Gaffigan created many successful comedy specials, including Grammy nominated Mr. Universe, Obsessed, Cinco, Noble Ape plus Quality Time. He appeared on dozens of TV shows, among which are The Ellen Show, Welcome to New York, That ‘70s Show and My Boys. The celebrity was also an author of short animations Pale Force for Late Night with Conan O’Brien and worked as a commentator on CBS Sunday Morning. In 2015-2016, he had his own project The Jim Gaffigan Show.

Besides, Jim Gaffigan appeared in over 200 commercials, including the ones for Chrysler and Super Bowl, and had a part in Broadway’s That Championship Season. In 1998, he made a big screen debut in The Real Howard Spitz and proceeded with playing in Super Troopers, The Great New Wonderful, The Love Guru, Experimenter, American Dreamer plus Drunk Parents. Additionally, he wrote books Dad Is Fat and Food: A Love Story.

In 2003, Gaffigan tied knots with actress Jeannie Noth. In 2005, they welcomed their firstborn daughter Marre. The girl was followed by four siblings: sister Katie as well as brothers Jack, Michael and Patrick. All the Gaffigans are devoted Catholics.

A curious fact: Jim is one of six children of banker Michael and philanthropist Marcia. Both his parents passed away of cancer in the 1990s.
