Eugene Levy is most famed for his fantastic acting talent that brought him 4 Primetime Emmys and 5 Canadian Screen Awards. Hailing from Ontario, Canada, he was raised by Jewish parents, Rebecca and car factory employee Joseph, alongside brother Fred.
Levy’s television career began in 1975 after he landed a small part in the King of Kensington series. He rose to prominence thanks to starring in Canadian show SCTV that he also wrote. Eugene went on having parts in dozens of other projects, but his most memorable works include Hiller and Diller, Greg the Bunny and Schitt’s Creek. What is more, he created the latter along with the Maniac Mansion series.
Undoubtedly, Eugene Levy is often associated with his character Noah Levenstein in American Pie films and is actually the only actor who played in each part. However, he is noted for having parts in many other films. Thus, among the performer’s credits are Bringing Down the House, New York Minute, The Man, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, For Your Consideration plus Gooby. Additionally, he wrote screenplays to some of his films and directed Once Upon a Crime in 1992.
On June 12, 1977, Eugene tied knots with Deborah Divine. In 1983, they became parents of son Daniel. And in 1986, the spouses were blessed with daughter Sarah. And now, both Levy’s kids also deal with acting. Together with Daniel, Levy established Not A Real Company Productions in 2013.
A curious fact: Levy is among the most respected Canadian artists who was honored with the Order of Canada and The Governor General’s Performing Arts Award.
