Shelby Blackstock is a son of country music star Reba McEntire and her second husband Narvel Blackstock. He deals with race driving and also serves as a driver coach.

Though his parents thought that he would get engaged into entertainment industry, Shelby fell in love with racing while being a college student and even gave up his studies to become a professional. He started to compete in 2010 and in 2011, he made a professional debut at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida.

Now, Blackstock is the winner of 2015 Indy Lights Tilton Hard Charger award and a runner-up of the 2018 Grand Prix at St. Petersburg. Moreover, he reached top 10 at many races, comprising Skip Barber National Championship, US F2000 National Championship, GRAND-AM Continental Challenge, Pro Mazda Championship and IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. In 2015, he started to compete in the Indy Series.

Apart from his racing career, Shelby took part in the creation of Blake Shelton Live: It’s All About Tonight TV special plus appeared in 20/20 television series.

Shelby calls Reba the best mom a son could ask for. They are very close and supportive of each other. Shelby often accompanies his mom to various events, including the ceremony of the artist’s honoring with Country Hall of Fame Award. In her turn, Reba supports her only biological son in everything he does. Once, she even organized a romantic supper for Shelby and his girlfriend Rissa at their third anniversary.

A cute fact: Fancy is Shelby’s favorite song from his mom’s repertoire.
